McManus Roofing LLC serves Maple Shade Township, NJ and the surrounding Burlington County area. We handle roof replacement, shingle and flashing repairs, leak tracing, storm and wind damage, flat and low-slope roofing, and gutter work on the township's Capes, ranches and twins as well as the newer builds and small commercial buildings along the Route 73 corridor.
A compact township of mostly post-war housing. Maple Shade is small, dense and largely built out, with a lot of its housing stock dating from the 1940s through the 1960s — Capes, modest ranches, and rows of twins. Those homes share a set of predictable roofing problems: roofs that are on their second or third layer, original plank or narrow-board sheathing under the shingles, and chimney flashing that has been reused through more than one replacement.
Roof replacement. We tear off to the bare deck rather than adding a layer. On homes of this age we routinely find soft boards around chimneys and in valleys, so the quote carries a board replacement allowance up front instead of arriving later as a change order. Ice-and-water shield goes in at the eaves and valleys, new flashing at every penetration, and ridge and soffit ventilation gets sized to the attic — undersized intake is very common on Capes, where the finished upper floor leaves little room for airflow.
Repairs and leaks. On twins and rowed housing the party-wall and sidewall flashing details are the usual leak source, and they are worth getting right because water entering there can affect the neighbouring unit as well. Beyond that the pattern is standard: split pipe boots, corroded valley metal, and wind-lifted sections along exposed slopes near Route 73.
Storm damage. We tarp and stabilize active leaks first, photograph and itemize the damage for your insurance carrier, then schedule the permanent repair. Calls are answered Monday to Friday 8am to 10pm and weekends 8am to 8pm.

Roofing Contractor in Maple Shade — Local Notes
- •Maple Shade Township is in Burlington County, a straightforward run up Route 73 from our Waterford Works shop.
- •Capes are common here, and their finished upper floors frequently leave inadequate soffit intake — which means ridge vent alone does very little and the attic cannot exhaust humid summer air.
- •Twins and rowed housing put the sidewall and party-wall flashing under real scrutiny; a failure there can push water into the adjoining unit, which makes getting the detail right worth more than the labour it costs.
- •Dense lots and narrow side streets limit dumpster placement on some blocks, so we confirm staging before the day of tear-off rather than improvising on site.
- •Homes of this era are often on their second or third shingle layer, which materially changes tear-off labour and disposal weight — we count layers during the inspection so the quote holds.
