McManus Roofing LLC covers Fairless Hills, PA and the surrounding Falls Township and Lower Bucks County area. We are a New Jersey-based roofing contractor operating out of 22 Maiese Ave in Waterford Works, and Bucks County is part of our regular service territory across the river. We handle roof replacement, repairs, leaks, low-slope and flat roofing, storm damage and gutters.
Built for one job, all at once. Fairless Hills went up in the early 1950s as housing for workers at the U.S. Steel Fairless Works, which means a large share of the town was framed within a few years of each other to a handful of repeating plans. Roofs here tend to reach the end of their service life in waves, and the same details fail across whole streets — which is useful, because we usually know what we are going to find before the ladder goes up.
Low-slope roofs need the right material. Many original Fairless Hills and neighboring Levittown-era houses were built with shallow-pitch or near-flat roof sections, particularly over the main body of the house and any later additions. Standard asphalt shingles are not rated for those pitches and will leak at the laps no matter how well they are nailed. On those roofs we install modified bitumen or a single-ply membrane with proper drainage, and reserve shingles for the sections that actually carry enough slope.
Repairs, storms and leaks. The common failure points on this housing stock are laps and seams on the low-slope sections, flashing where an addition or carport ties into the original roofline, and gutters overwhelmed by mature tree cover that has had seventy years to grow in. After a wind event we tarp and stabilize first, document the damage for your insurance carrier, then schedule the permanent repair. Calls are answered Monday to Friday 8am to 10pm and weekends 8am to 8pm.

Roofing Contractor in Fairless Hills — Local Notes
- •Fairless Hills is in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, roughly an hour from our Waterford Works shop — we schedule Bucks County work in blocks rather than as same-hour emergency runs, so call as early as you can when something is actively leaking.
- •Original 1950s houses here frequently have low-slope or near-flat sections that should not be shingled; if a previous contractor put asphalt shingles on one, that is very often where the leak is.
- •Additions, enclosed carports and converted porches are extremely common on this housing stock, and the tie-in flashing where they meet the original roof is the single most frequent leak source we find in town.
- •Seventy years of tree growth means heavy leaf load in the gutters each fall, which backs water up under the bottom courses and rots fascia if it is left through a winter.
- •Many homes are still on their original roof deck, so we plan for board replacement in the quote rather than treating it as a surprise change order.
